Best GHA Remover Ever.. Reef Flux/Algae Buster

Algae Buster/Reef Flux

This has to be the best Green Hair Algae (GHA) Remover on the market. Greatest Silver Bullet for Reefing to come in many years.

I was plagued with Green Hair Algae for over well 8 months to a year. I honestly didn't think there was anything that would help except removing by hand daily or weekly. I did find out that GHA grows faster than I can manually remove, plus there was GHA in places I could not get to.

Then I read about Algae Buster / Reef Flux. I opened 14 Capsules, placed in cheese cloth, tied up like a tea bag and dropped it in my sump near the return. That was on a Wednesday, I also turned down my skimmer as directed for 3 days. I was away for the following week and when I returned in week's time, more than half of the algae had disappeared. Just gone! I have the skimmer running optimally and I'm still running the system as normal for close to a month to make sure it actually worked. There is not one speck of GHA anywhere in my tank.. anywhere. Best part is there were no ill effects on fish, corals, etc..

Guys, if your plagued with Green Hair Algae, Please get this stuff, NOW. It worked miracles in my tank. You just have to be patient and wait the full 2 weeks (i'm going 4 weeks with WC this weekend) and you will be ecstatic with the results.

PS. I am just your average reefer/consumer and not being paid to write this review. Hope I put this in the proper forum and I hope you have similar results.

This is also known as fluconazole.

Very little green left in my tank. Killed bryopsis and GHA but not all GHA.

I dosed 10 capsules to 260G water though, was very effective at that dose on bryopsis.

I do have a little cyano after 3 weeks and just did a 100G water change to 260 G volume.

This fluconazole is great.

Ran the skimmer full time, no need to shut off. Left my ATS up and running and the algae still grew in the highly o2 rich environment. Just not as much as normal.

I also used this wonder drug for GHA and three weeks later tank developed Dino's. It's like the cure that kills you. I was preparing myself to loose everything, read every Dinos post i could. I found others who had developed Dino's had previously used Fluc. also. I have thirty capsules left if you're interested in reaping the aftermath. :blown:

The problem is many of the people who use it do so incorrectly. The issue is the GHA you had in the first place, its due to poor water conditions. So people need to fix the water condition first. Or its just a matter of putting a band aid over something that needs stitches and expecting it to heal an open wound.

I will also say, most people do not do what should be done, and that is after treatment, you need to do as much of a water change as possible. I did a little more then 1/3

I have thirty capsules left

If you want to sell half, send me a paypal address in a PM

Yea it's not a solution in and of itself. It's a fix that allows you to get ahead of the problem. I'm two weeks in now myself. GHA visibly receding at this point. Got the cheato reactor going and ready to do close to a 50% water change after.

And 2 doses(followed directions to a T) months apart did nothing for my GHA, and no it's not a nutrient issue for me(well technically it is). I started with dry pukani I did not "cook/cure" properly and 2 years later it's still leaching PO4 like a leaky faucet.

It did kill my bryopsis and some of the GHA, but after a couple weeks the GHA came back even worse then it was.

Had a similar experience. Let skimmer overflow and dosed as recommended. Had no discernible effect on GHA whatsoever. I was really surprised since there are so many positive anecdotes in the forums.

Have since been able to at least stop the GHA spreading by installing an ATS, increased water change schedule and closely monitor phosphates.

Which is difference between algae buster anche reef flux?

I "hired" a sea hare from lfs. After 2 weeks it had decimated gha! I have very little left and kole tang and algae blenny can manage it now. Took Sea hare back to lfs yesterday and got half the cost back. Honestly wasn't expecting it to be so good.
