Best host for big Clarkii

I just inherited a pair of Clarkii's that I had intended to get a bta for, until I saw the size. The female is a good 4", all the bta's I've seen around are to small, I'm afraid she's going to kill it. Any suggestions on what to get for them for a host? The tanks a 29 that I've had running for over a year, with a reefbreeders value fixture. I can upgrade to a 40 breeder soon if necessary.

Well you have a pretty good choice since Clarki's natural host is just about every dang one we keep!
I don't know what would NOT be natural, certainly a shorter list.
Your only limitations will be that tank size, and I would definitely go bigger if you can.
malu's and BTA's are natural and smaller
Mine took wonderful care of my crispa and doreensis back when.
Of all my clowns, none were better at taking care of their nem than my clarki's, which ALWAYS brought food to the nems before eating for themselves.

Host anemone species: Cryptodendrum adhaesivum; Entacmaea quadricolor; Heteractis aurora; H. crispa; H. magnifica, H. malu; Macrodactyla doreensis; Stichodactyla gigantea; S. haddoni; S. mertensii.

Clarkiis look great in haddoni carpets and are commonly available in large sizes. That being said, as davocean stated, just about anything that is large will work.

Large BTAs...........is a nice choice..........

When hosted in BTAs......the colors of Amphiprion clarkii tend to be brighter...........

When hosted in BTAs the Orange and Yellow color are vivid...........

While when they are hosted in Merten´s the color turn Black........so called Melanistic related to the Anemone species..................

In this case Stichodactyla mertensii..............
