Best Jugs

Caught you looking!!! But you would be surprised what you find when you google that one..... I was actually wanting to find the best jugs to transport water. Best being won't dry rot and are relatively inexpensive.

Depends on how much water. I used 55g plastic drums. Worked great. I ratchet straped each one to a dolly. Then filled. Needed 2 people to move each one. Also had a trailer and a ramp. Dont even try to lift one into a truck bed. It wont happen unless you have a crain

I've had the best luck with the 5 gallon jugs you get to put water in for dispensers. You can find them for 7.99-9.99 range at most stores, and even get them filled with "RO" water (not RODI) at most of the water stores for 9.99-10.99.

They last for almost ever, and are easy to store...

I think these are the one's AZBigJohn is talking about, I also use them and find them pretty handy. Reef Culture always seems to have a bunch in stock near the testing supplies.

You mentioned transporting water though so I feel it's my duty to recommend your very first system upgrade be a new/refurbished spectrapure 4 stage ro/di (no flush needed) and a handheld TDS meter. A 5 gallon bucket, heater, plastic spoon, hydrometer (if you don't have one already) and a bucket of salt. This sounds like a lot but it's easy to hook up to a sink and make ro/di and nsw on demand for your tank. If you have a nano it will last you a long time before maintenance.

WinCo has them for $5 awhile back. Check there first. If you keep jugs away from the sun and heat, they can last a long time. I would over pay for them

I am trying to find a jug that fits under my tank stand for an ATO setup, can someone get me the dimensions of these type jugs? Thank you.

Hm, my firty mind went down the same track =P

If your looking for one for under the stand you can use a $3 bucket from Home depot with a $2 lid and then you can drill through the lid for the ATO line and powercord for the pump so you dont get any evap.

Problem with using one of the std 5gal water bottles is the opening isnt big enough for a submersible so you would need to go external or gravity fed. They do, however, make wise mouth versions of the 5g water bottles for the brewing industry. They are a bit expensive, but you might be able to find one at a local homebrew store or even a walmart or something.

Fyi if winco dosnt have them anymore say them at sportsmans yesterday for 6.99, they also have larger blue ones and water drums as well
