Best Kalk Reactor

My tunze ato pump always manages to end up on the bottom of my resovoir pumping over concentrated slurry into my sump.

The ato application doesn't work for me, I've had coral failures do to over concentrated slurry from pump dislocation too many times.

My new system has an ato container that is plumbed to an RODI unit and is not easily removed for cleaning, it's also way larger than what I want to service for lime water.

Im convinced the best solution for my application is going to be a good high quality kalk stirrer that's easily added to and easily serviced and is seperate from my ato container.

I'm OK with my ato feeding it...although I looked tonight and the unit I like has murlock connections and the tubing from my tunze 3155 will not hook up to a standard rodi murlock line, which makes me think I'm going to have to find a small pump and put it on a schedule.

Please advise.

I run an avast kalk stirrer with my tunze ato. I used the tube tunze supplied with the ATO and used a drip tube straight connector (think garden drip fittings) and used it to connect some RO tube. I have had zero issues running it this way

Snap a pic the next time you are near the tank please. :)

Havent the foggiest what the best one is ..... all I can tell you is that after years of futzing around with various DiY and commercial options I'm thrilled to say that my avast unit has operated flawlessly for the past three years. Small pump pushes water from my ATO reservoir via RODI tubing into the Kalkstirrer where it overflows the exit tube into my sump. I even measure the pH of the effluent which tells me when to add more Kalk powder.

Small pump indeed. What pump are you using? What's it controlled by?

Thanks In advance.

Sure, happy to help.

I'm actually using one of the avast diaphragm pumps controlled by the avast ATO pressure switch (clearly I'm an unabashed fan of the avast stuff) run through my apex controller with multiple redundant floats as backup. Since I'm paranoid, I also have a backup ATO pump just in case the diaphragm pump goes wonky.

I've been using an Avast Kalk stirrer as well. I went with the You-Built version, where they send you the kit containing all the parts you need and you put it together yourself. This saves some money with it.

Once again, zero issue with the Avast unit. I've been running mine for about 3-4 years now.
