Best LFS in Tampa?

Having tried the local PetSmart and PetCo, I wanted to try a local specialty store for obvious reasons...

I have been going here:

Fins & Fur Inc
10018 Cross Creek Boulevard
Tampa, FL 33647
(813) 994-2500

The "Salt Water Guy" (Chaz) seems to be knowledgable and he was VERY patient when I bombarded him with my "newbie" questions. It is small but I feel they have a pretty good variety of livestock. My Blood Shrimp is still doing very well!

I have visited WWC and was impressed with the inventory and the service. REALLY nice and informative staff!

I have visited Marine Warehouse and honestly did not care for the level of customer service. There is a review on Yahoo Local that describes the exact experience I had but posted by another customer. I do not want to start a "flame war", just my opinion based upon one visit.

Both WWC and Marine Warehouse have a much larger inventory. However, Fins and Fur is a 5 min drive for me and it is beginner friendly without a resident "Fish Nazi".

Let's not forget Creative Aquariums on Dale Mabry. They recently got rid of their freshwater tanks and converted to salt water. That's usually where I go.

I went to marine warehouse on Thursday night and was in there for 30 mins looking around. I wanted to spend money but i didn't receive a hello, how are you, can i help you find anything, or anything. **** poor customer service does not receive my business.

Sounds like my kinda place I hate having 4-5 people come to me every 5 min saying " can I get you something or can I help you find something" A hello is ok but dont bother me every other minute if I need help I will let you know lol. Some stores feels like im at a car lot

I agree I hate being bugged when I am at a store or when they make you feel interigated. If I like something I will ask for help. Its when I ask for help and no one can seem to find the time to stop sitting around and help than I get ****ed.

how can you judge a store's customer service based on a simple "hello"?

seems like a premature judgement to me.

marine warehouse has terrible customer service. both my roommates were looking for tanks and went there, they young man working said they didnt have the 60 cube he was looking for and none in the back? they had two in the back and he bought the 60 the next week. annnnd in the middle of talking to us, some lady walked in and he just turned around and helped her? *** he was supposed to be helping us, right? all their employees suck.

they live like 2 miles from me in Seminole.... killer setup at his place.
I don't know if has people come to the house anymore? been a while

He moved from that place that had that 15,000 gallon pool. Or shut it down. They have a place close to 275 and Ulmerton.

I like all three stores mentioned. I don't think FAOIS is into the "name game" though. I actually like the naming of corals just so its easy to explain what you want. Otherwise its kinda difficult to explain what your looking for. I think a big reason why you don't see a LOT of larger colonies being sold there is there is not enough room for colonies. Coral Corral has a lot more room for them. Both are good stores.

I've found a lot of gems at both stores.
