I'm looking to pickup a macro lens for my canon t3 DSLR camera? What would you recommend? I don't want to break the bank but want an upgrade from the stock lens.

The tamron 90mm macro is cheap and very sharp. But if you can afford the Canon 100mm 2.8 macro non IS I'd go that route.

Tamron 90 for the money you cannot go wrong ..For more money look at the canon 100mm for about 400.00 or the Canon 100mm L series for about 1000.00 800 used...

So not being a camera guy, and wanting to give this gift to a good friend of mine, I think I accidentally purchased the wrong one.
I bought this lens:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/221336550222?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

But it says that it has the adaptall2? mount for Nikon and the camera is the canon eos rebel t3 model?

Can one of you with experience and knowledge in this field link to me to the piece that I need to make this lens work in the canon camera?

Thanks in advance and silly me for doing ebay on my iphone while out at dinner

Hi!!!!

Really, the only thing I can say is look for one on ebay that matches your camera. Personally never had to use one. I did look. If you do a search, they are there.

Vivitar 100MM Macro.. look for it on Ebay, about 150 bucks.. The construction is cheap so they call it the Fantastic Plastic lens, loud autofocus etc... But the image quality is right there with the Cannon and Tamron ones.. Save yourself some money, how much are you really going to use a macro? some fish and coral shots? that's about it. You will be happy with this lens.

Don't take this advice if you are unfamiliar with dslrs. That vivitar lens is FD mount unless it was changed to an EF mount then it won't work without and adapter on a rebel EF mount.

I have one for my EOS Rebel Xsi... They have one for most camera mounts...

If you read the thread, the OP already bought a lens. He's looking for an adapter/mount for what he has.

It would seem so. If you look deeper, you may find some with contacts to provide some of the on camera controls, but when I was playing with some of my first macro lenses I did without the fluff.
