best of show at ARC

my "exotic unicorn mare and her twin foals" took best of show in the student art show at ARC if any of ya care to go take a look, they are at the james kaneko gallery on the campus.

i am surpirzed they got in, i did not get anything in the show last year. getting best of show was a big surpize and really lifted my spirits as this month as been a bit rough.

i have not gotten the prize yet as they are still waiting for a few sponsers to send their checks. i don't know how much money the prize is but you can bet it will be spent on some new corals

have you seen the agragacrete (man made) type of live rock around? john has some at his shop (near the front door), i bet you could make some very eye pleasing structures if you were ever to try it. lmk if you ever do!~)

i have looked up the process of making your own rock using some kind of concrete, sand and oyster shell crumbles. i never tried it since it takes a LONG time to cure the rocks, somthing about the concrete having a very high PH and it has to be left in circulating water for months.

you just make the structures let the customer cure it themselves.
it was just a idea/suggestion i am sure your ambitions will take you further!~)

200 smakers! WOOT! i get to have a $100 coral shopping spree. i'm putting the other half into my savings account.

so after totalK's frogspwan and a pagoda from some one else i have $60 to spend at yourreef.

i have been wanting a brain coral, or one of those plate/tonge/china hat corals. he has some for $30-$40
but i want to be sure i can handle them. i have power compact florecents on a 23 gallon and 40 gallon. i have been keeping a dome shaped pagoda, digis, favia, blastos, kenya trees, acro frag, pavona cactus, shrooms and zoos just fine so a brain or china hat coral should be no problem right?

is there any way i can keep a small clam in such a tank if kept high up near the top to get the most light, i cannot aford MH lights.

$200 is more than i thought!!!! YAY!

The brain sould be fine..eveyone needs one...and I was lost untill I got mine...
As far as the calm, I don't think I would try it under PC unless it was a H. Hippopus.
