hello

im looking to buy a cube around 30 gallons and was thinking of acrylic. the only thing i care about is a tank that doent leak. i like acrylic for this option

thx in advanced

you dont need to buy acrylic if your only buying a 30 gallon. glass is ok in that size. glass wont strach as much and wont get cloudy with age.

ive had lots of leaking tanks over time. i just want something with peace of mind that it will last along time. are there any good online dealers?
thx for the respone

Honestly acrylic isn't worth it at that size. The benefits I see for acrylic are mainly weight, and at 30 gallons, one dude should be able to easily lift a glass tank..

If it's sealed properly/drilled properly you shouldn't have anything leaking.

I would go to an LFS and order a 30 breeder from Aqueon. Free shipping.

ok thx big blue. sorry anthony for not listening, im just fed up with leaking tanks

i lik the thirty breeders but was thinking about a cube. maby a jbj nano?

thx again guys i always appreciate people taking the time to help me

I bought a nice Innovative Marine 38 gallon off of craigslist. If you are patient and can wait/watch for what you want, you can find really good deals that include everything from people getting out of the hobby. Both of my setups were purchased from listings on there.
Good luck!

If it has to be Acrylic I would check out Advanced Acrylics.

For a reef tank I would always go with full Eurobrace - it minimizes the risk of jumpers and prevents the ugly salt creep you often have with rimless. It also allows you to set the flow as it's needed without being careful to not blow the water over the edge of the tank (all issues I have with my rimless tank).

thx for the responses guys. im def going to check out the sites mentioned above. if i do acrylic thats a good suggestion to consider eurobraced

thx

i researched the links and suggesstions. i was thinking of going with glass cages only cuz it has the exact size and dimentions im looking for. i also like the fact they are acrylic. are these reliable tanks?

i dont need anything astecally perfect or beutifull, i just need something that wont break or leak

I don't have personal experience with eighther brand but I have done a bunch of research because I will be replacing my tank soon. I have read quite a few threads that weren't to happy with glass cages. It seems like u see more people who aren't happy with glass cages then are happy. On the other hand I have read almost all positive reviews on sc aquariums. I'm sure there's a few that had issues but the majority seem to love them. That's the reason I am going to probably go with sc aquariums when I get my new tank. I just don't like there overflow boxes & drain setups but that's not as big of a deal on a smaller tank.

thx for the reply Lsufan

i been researching them also and came up with a similiar conclussion u did. ill continue my search for a good tank
