I'm looking to buy online for the first timeand just can't seem to find anywhere that has the two fish im looking for.

White Tail bristle tooth tang
Yellow pyramid butterfly

Im on vacation this week and need them to be shipped now not when im at work.

I did find aquacon.com that has both fish i want but dont offer free shipping with so much spent. decided to go with a tomini instead of whitetail since they have it in stock

NY aquatics just had them about a week ago. Call or email Michael and he'll get it for you relatively fast. If youre not home you can always have him ship to your local fedex office. Ive done it several times. Btw i consider the quality of fish and shipping preparation more important than getting free shipping. Had a friend who opted for a co just because it offered free shipping and the fish showed up almost dead cause half the water leaked out and no heating pads(during fall)l!! Like they say, you get what you pay for. Good luck.

The white tail bristle tooth is something you will only see on DD from LA and same thing with the Tomini tang or at least the last few I have seen have been on DD. there are plenty of great places to buy fish from online, just no one is allowed to mention them or the thread will get shut down. I wouldn't buy from LA, I would buy from their source not them. LA has a huge price hike on their fish in fact it is so high on some fish I can't believe that people still buy from them

no, the thread will not get locked due to that...if you name a company that is not a sponsor it will get censored out...

I highly recommend la/dd, nya, bz, and pia...

There are also some that swear by petco.com and there are currently a few threads regarding them- look in Vendor Feedback...their livestock looks great from the few pics I've seen and their prices are terrific but shipping, packing, and delivery seem to have some issues...

I have not tried tried them so I can't comment first hand....

LA has excellent service, which has a cost. You may be comfortable without that, but most people appreciate it.

great point...they have the best customer service of just about any company I have ever done business with...rivals LL Bean...

What is pia?

Pacific Island Aquatics. They are closed for business until August 7 though.

I highly recommend LiveAquaria, living in MN and comparing their prices to some LFS prices, LA is cheaper. I have ordered from them and they have the best customer service that I have had to work with this far. My online vendor experience is limited since I have only ordered from NYA and LA, the prior experience not the best, though I want to give them another try at some point.

Yes they do but if I can buy the same fish from the same place that supplies LA with their fish they turn around and markup 300% on average and still get the 2 wk guarantee, why wouldn't you do that. Currently unfortunately you still need a ta ID number to do that but big changes are on the near horizon on that front. Just to clarify I too have bought most all fish from LA for service and quality, now I just go to the source

Not saying your choice isn't valid. Just saying that LA handles fish well and offers a good guarantee. Especially for people who are pretty new, that's worth a lot. Chasing down sources for fish at wholesalers and dealing with initial losses are also things I'm happy to pay LA to do.

BTW, what big changes are in the offing in the wholesaling business?

Agreed on Live Aquaria/Divers Den. PIA, Bluezoo and NYAquatics often have hard to find items. I'll never order from Aquacon again. A terrible experience.

As has been mentioned, there're several threads on Petco. It seems their livestock doesn't come from the same wholesaler as LA/DD. Regardless, I personally wouldn't support them due to their brick and mortar store quality.

DO NOT order from AquaCON!! I haven't heard a single good thing about them, consider it a well known scam.

As for the white tail bristletooth in the OP's post, good luck. I would probably just go with the Tomini as the Ctenochaetus Flavicauda is so difficult to find. There was one on LA DD last week but that's the first I've seen in a long, long time.

I personally have stopped using LA ever since they switched over to only shipping via UPS (which is terrible where I live). Bluezoo still uses Fedex, and I've been quite pleased with the livestock I've received from them.
