Best QT option for Achilles tang

Ohioboy I agree! That's a heck of a deal. Should be about 3 inches I will know in the next hour or so if they had any left at that price! After I ordered on Friday they called me and said they had been selling a lot of them but she would not know till Monday (today) if I would get one! But I just checked the website still shows them in stock so I should be ok! If you want one PM me and I can give you the item # for the $109 price if you look them up it just shows them at $189

i have a 3" one in QT right now QT with my other fishes while the main display stays fallow for the next 8 more weeks. The water parameters are perfect and he seems happy like it's his own space. It is a 100 gallon QT thou.

I QT 2 at separate times in a standard 29g without issue. Aquaclear HOB, mp10, heater. prazi and 3+weeks of cupramine at .5ppm.

one was 3.5", the other about 4".

Most importantly, is find a specimen that is eating well.

Almost like my QT setup. I've QT'd a 6.5 inch Fowleri tang for 8 weeks before. He was cool took food out of my hands..

Scuzy that's sounds like a nice QT tank! I will setting up a 55 gallon QT next week I hope and keep it up and running for new fish ETC! Where did you get your AT? And how much if you don't mind me asking? I might order another one tomorrow after I get mine in my QT tank! I would lov to have one in both my DT tanks or really would lov to have both in same DT but if it don't work out I can always move one to another tank ! At $109 I think it's a pretty good price for a 3inch AT.

If anybody wants one for $109 PM I can give you the item #. They not on the reg website at that price! Price will be good thru Friday 4/5/13 while supplies last!

Question regarding this
I am planning to do small 2 Achilles tang, 2 powder blue , 3 purple and 3 yellow tang First I will Qt 2 small Achilles and 2 small powder blue individually to make sure they are eating, velvet and flukes free for 4 weeks then put all of the tangs on my 435 gallon together to do hypo salinity for addition 4-8 weeks using 4 weeks old cemented dead and live rocks ( i am renovating my main tank ) the ph will be closely monitored . I will make sure that there is no ammonia or anything since 200 gallons water that will be used is from my current set up.

Will this insured me that i will have no more ick on this guys
Every fish that I will add later on will go to 4 -6 weeks qt
Mostly anthias and wrasses

Not with you using 200g of your existing water. Is there ich currently in the water you are referring to? If so you need to leave that without fish for 8 wks otherwise the ich will still be present. If it is ich free and your sure of that you should have no problems

The ick will die with hyposalinity and tank will be fallow for 4 weeks Also I don't have ick on the 120 fish.

I had Achilles before did qt for 4 weeks and the ick is off and on for a year no matter what i do so i let it be.

I thinking of getting another AT wensday that will be one day after the first one do you think they will be both ok in 29gal QT? Both will be 3 inch or smaller! If they get alone with each other they should be fine I think! If not I can move one to a 55gal but will have other fish in it! I just will be risking my other fish with the new AT. What y'all think of 2?

What size is your display tank? I would be careful especially if you have never kept a AT before. They are beautiful but difficult fish to properly acclimate and get eating and eating well. They are also easily stressed

I have never had a AT before. I got 2 DT tanks now 200gl one has 4in PB 1 black spot 3in 1 blueface angel 3in 1 queen angel 3in. The other tank 1 black longnose 6in 2 purple 3 & 4 in 1 yellow 1 blue hippo 1 flame angel 1 pair photon clowns 1 pair fancy snowflake also forgot to list 1 pair wyoming whites clowns. Feed the tank with the PB garlic & selcon everyday! The second tank with the 5 tangs they all eat off of one veggie clip like a pack of wolfs! But they all get alone great! I got video if I can load them on here! Got another 200 gallon with just lionfish in it! Looking to get a 300 or 400 gallon next

So your saying use cupramine now before I put AT in the QT? Also what do you think of putting 2 in same QT? Can it be done or not worth the risk? Just thinking if they both were together at young age from the beginning! Would be one day apart! Can get for $109 so would you try it?

I would just go with one. Rather than do a first day dose of .25ppm cupramine, go with half that and see how the fish reacts. This is after seeing the fish eats for a period of time first.

You keep quoting this 109 price. I've never seen an email from LA/DD with special prices.

I signed up for weekly specials This was the first email I got from LA then it said for subscribers only! And had the AT for $109 48% off so it's new to me also! I called her today told her I had a friend that wanted one she said go to weekly specials! It's not on the weekly speical! She was wrong! It's for subscribers only! Send me your email and I can send you a pic of it. I can't do pics on RC with my phone! Or email me and I will email u back ridem32@aol.com they list one saltwater fish and one freshwater fish

But understand its not on the weekly speical! It's subscribers only! When you get your first email it should show you weekly & subscribers only! It did on mine! They come new on Fridays
