Best QT option for Achilles tang

Got my 3rd AT 4/19/13 got the first one I got in my DT with a 5inchPB 4inchBspot 3inchQ angel and a 3 inch blueface angel. All doing great! PB is boss! All 3 tangs hang at one end of tank! My AT has never made laps in my tank! Never swims fast! Eats whatever I put in tank! Put 2 nori clips in everyday! The other 2 AT in a 55g QT both eating great! Eat flakes also! Neither one of these fish have never made a lap in the 55g tank! One stays at one end the other one stays at the other end! When they do cross paths the circle each other and then go back to there opposite end of tank! Put nori clips in both ends of tank everyday! All 3 of my AT came from LA! All eat fine! None flash, dart , swim fast nor make laps! I have read the whole primer! Helped me lots! Thanks to everyone for all the info!
That is sweet!!!...wow three AT...and all doing great...that's awesome! Man these fish are so hit and miss...glad everything is working fine...take some pics.

I've had mine almost 9 months now, we affectionately named ours "Icky" 
He's now about as wide as he is long, since i've gotten him he's grown almost 2"...he's about 6" total right now.

I have 3 DT tanks! Lots of tangs! Got a very nice 7inch black tang he is in same tank as (2) 3 inch purples one blue hippo one yellow they all buddy's! They eat nori off of a clip like a pack of wild wolfs! But it's a very peaceful tank! I'm looking for a good deal on a 500 and up to 800 gallon tank! Then I will decide who goes where! Of all (3) of my AT tangs only one did not eat right away but grazed on rock and took to nori clip then I got live brine and now he eats flakes, pellets, etc. I soak all my food for all my tanks even the 55gl QT I soak in garlic & selcon! Treated with prazi on all (3) AT but that's it so far! All eating and doing great! My PB is about 5in and fat my black spot is about 4 and fat got the first AT in with them! So he eats whatever they eat! But it's odd all (3) of the tangs hang together at one end of tank! Never making laps or fast swims! I will get some pics will have to do it from my home computer I can't get my iPhone to do it! My son will help me with pics & video just got me a used vortex diatom filter been wanting to try one out! Also got me a new 75 gad R/O D/I unit in the mail today got 100lbs if salt coming wensday this fish stuff cost!! Way to much lol. Thanks again to every one on RC. Help me out lots!!

I was reading the primer: I think Dmorty said something about air stones: I added (2) air stones in my sump in one of my DT tanks which I have my AT & PB etc with in 20 min I could see a difference in my fish swimming more, now swimming the whole length of the tank and seemed to mellow them out lots: I'm going to add one to my other sump in my other DT and see if I get the same results! As far as my (3) AT"s they all doing great and all eating great! So far only treated with prazi ! Let me know how every one else AT are doing! I still soak all food in garlic & selcon! I use TLC start smart complete every week !

I mentioned the airstones in the primer because of the need for well oxygenated water but after that suggestion people reminded me that airstones don't actually add oxygen to the water. Surface agitation is the best way to add oxygen and a big protein skimmer helps too! I you noticed a difference in behavior I would say it clearly works then. My AT is doing great, I also treated with prazipro and did also treat with cupramine. When I treated with cupramine I did notice the fish didnt want to eat as much but still ate never the less

In my DT tank with AT & PB I have (2) hang in back filters which aid in oxygen, my sump I added about 2 years ago with about 2 inches in drop of water before it hits the sump! Even more oxygen! When I added the (2) air stones being right by the pick up filter going back in the tank it sure seemed to help! But could just be my wanting a change lol but my fish have never swam the whole tank. Tangs always stayed at one end now they swim all around! I have never used air stones before at all but I don't think air bubbles in the sump can hurt! So I tried it! Glad to hear your AT is doing good! How much longer you got before you put all of yours in your DT?

The fish that were in the QT are in being put in the DT today, so hopefully all goes well and everyone gets along. The DT has a TON of flow and a lot of open swimming room so we will see how everyone adapts to the DT. What AT do you like the most out of the ones you got Ridem32? Also where did you get the black tang?

Dmorty: let me know how your fish do in the DT. I got a used diatom filter off of eBay put new DE in it put it on one of my tanks and wow O wow my water has never looked so clear! Looks like ur looking thru the water just plain unreal! I like all (3) if my Achilles tang but I have a powder blue and a black spot that I like a lot also! The black tang is just out rite amazing !

Update on diatom filter: ran filter 12 hours I have (4) SOL blue lights on this tank: the water is so clear looks like fish swimming in mid air! Blackpearlaqua has the SOL blue back on sale for $299 that's where I got mine! And that's a great price! Also gave me free shipping

Dmorty: the diatom filter will even filter out ich! Go to there website and check them out! Brand new about $130. They same as they was back in the 1970,s. also I put a air stone in my main DT. In the sump. My wife called me inside and said why are all the fish swimming all over the tank! Even all the way to the top! Flame angel & hippo tang both been in this tank over 3 years! She said I never seen them swim past half way up never! I told her about the air stone and she laugh and said dang I can't believe every fish in the tank swimming all over! Black tang, yellow, (2) purples (2) pairs of clown fish! All fish swimming everywhere in crystal clear water! Wait a few days after your fish are use to there new home add a air stone in sump and watch! 2 of my DT tanks did the same results! Keep in touch! Glad your fish doing good!

Ok good deal. I had 3 old air pumps and some old stones but they seem to be working great. I would wait about a week so that your fish will be use to there new home then add air stone to sump that way maybe you can see a difference in the way they act! I have got all (3) of my AT eating pellets! The 2nd one was the picky eater now eats everything even flakes! I throw in a few pellets before I feed the regular food and that seemed to work now they should all grow big and fat like my PB, black spot & black tang! My (2) purples eat good but they not fat like the PB!
