So I've got 2x 250w Coralvue 10k's on an Electric Ballast and they are way to crisp and white for my tastes :( What would you all suggest I use to bring out the beautiful colors I see when only the actinics are on? Thinking about Hamilton 14k's or XM 20k's? What do you all think? Thanks :)

i too use 175 watt 20K xm bulb... however i find it to be slightly blue-ish, but not nearly like an actinic supplemented blue.

Hamilton 14k's give it good color and great "actinic" like pop without the supplementation.

I'm also using 14K Hamilton but think it's a little to white, could use more blue. Contemplating between 14K Phoenix or 20K XM

250 or 400w? I have them on both, and the 400w are much more white, but I'm still ok with the look. I like the Radiums on 400w as well.

i love my 2x250 hamilton 14k, they have great color on their own. my zoas were good under them, but when i added an additional 440 watts of VHO actinic i really saw a huge difference. you will just have to try a few bulbs till you get what you like. good luck!

i have 1 14 k hamilton with 2 65 watts atinic pc and they look great in a 29 gal , and in the 72 bf i have 2 250 10 k with 3 super attinics vhos and they look good

This is A pic of a few zoas under my 175 XM'x in a 29 tank still under construction. Pic with no flash, just the XM only burning. Its so blue it looks actinic to me all the time. I wish I could get the pop with a brighter tank look.

Not the best shots but just to show you how deep blue my water looks.... The zoas all florece (sp?) great but just so darn dim looking IMO.
