Best setup for 90 Reef

Roger, (or anyone else)

I'm having a hard time knowing what to buy with all the options available. I have a 90 Gallon Allglass aquarium that I keep a clam on the bottom and will putting some in the rock later. I also want to keep a few SPS and some LPS corals. It has 100 lbs of fiji and DSB.

I want a two powerhead setup. What would be the best setup to go with to get the most out of it? I have been looking at the new nano 6025 but I don't think two of them will have enough flow. I'm not sure if I need a controller or not.

Actually, what would be the best in both situation, a no controller solution and a controller solution.

Thanks.

Roger,

Same question for me. I was thinking of two 6055's with the multi controller. I ave a 90g also. I currently run 3 maxi jet 1200's and 1 seio 820 on a wavemaker. I thought 2 6055's would give me more flow.

The 6025s won't be strong enough for a 90 gallon tank. I would go with two 6045s unless you have the extra cast to get two 6055s with a 7091 or 7095 controller. Being able to controll your pumps in a reef tank is a huge plus.

For SPS 2 6000's are your best bet as often SPS people want even more flow or a bigger tank and the 6000 can be upgraded to a 6100.

Thanks! Would the new 6055's coming out in the near future be a good choice also on a controller? I like the integrated magnet setup.

You cannot upgrade the 6055, if you weren't doing SPS I would say yes but you will likely need more flow than two 6055 can do.
