best shore snorkeling in Mexico

I am presently staying in a resort on the mayan riviera between cancun and playa del carmen and I am looking for a recommendation for the best place to snorkel from the shore specifically to see corals anywhere on the riviera within 30 minutes of playa including cozumel. Please name the beach.

check out Akumal. Akumal bay is good, also half moon bay- right next to it is great

it's where they filmed the movie "the blue lagoon" with young brook sheilds

freshwater mixing with saltwater lagoon. Its located not far past playa del carmen.
There's cave snorkeling, you can go down a mangrove river in a tube, and so much to see!!!

Akumal is a great spot for turtles and fish but not as much for coral. Yal Ku lagoon in Akumal is really cool too. You may want to try the cenotes snorkeling near Puerto Aventuras too, it is awesome.
You can also ask at the dive shop at your resort for areas close by that have good snorkeling. We stayed in Puerto AVenturas and snorkeled right out front of the Omni hotel in Fatima bay and saw some excellent reef structures and fish.
