I have had 2-Cleaner shrimp, and have lost both of them.

1st-A fish died during the day sometime and by the time I got home and did a water change, I lost the shrimp.

2nd-Something crazy happened in my tank. I almost lost 2 other fish, but managed to save them.

Just looking for a good shrimp(that wont mess with Corals)... dont know if Cleaner shrimp are just to sensitive for a 24g. Its 4 months old...

I have a fire shrimp in my 15gal. Just picked up another today. He sheds reguarly and comes out to feed. Great for small tanks becuase you can always seem them. :D Cleaners wouldn't be bad if you keep your water parameters steady.

You could try pistol shrimps too.
Cheers

I mix my water the same salinity as the current tank salinity.

I thought it was because the dead fish add be stuck to the side of the powerhead all day...

pretty much any will do well, CB works well, but can be aggressive when it gets older. I've had sexy, coral banded in mine, and pepps. My skunk cleaners in my 70g sometimes nibbles on the end of my hard coral, damn him. No other problems with eating corals, though.

I would suggest some sexy shrimp. I have three in my oceanic 8 and they are my favorite things in the tank. My shrimp hang around (in) sofy corals and ricordeas. However, some fish will eat them. So need to be housed with small, passive fish.

Personally I've kept cleaner shrimp in a tank as small as 5G. They did just fine.

But there are some other nice looking shrimp out there that I would love to try also...

Did you test all of your water parameters when these mishaps occured? That could help us help you. What ever the fish were dieing from is probably what killed the shrimp!

The scarlet skunk cleaner is probably the safest reef shrimp around. If you have any aiptasia ,peppermint shrimp will most likely take care of those for you.
take my advice and stay away from the common coral banded shrimp after 3 months mine became a fish killer.
