Hi... I am considering the following substrates for my new fuge. I want to promote my pod population and also want it for nutrient export. I have chaeto already growing in my old fuge, which this one will replace. I also am interested a substrate that is going to add trace elements over time to the display tank.

1 - bare bottom with just live rock rubble
2- 2-3" sand bed (sugar sized) with LRR
3- DSB with LRR
4- refugium mud (not sure which... walt smith, or caribsea or miracle mud?) and LRR
5- Kent Marine BioSediment with lrr

let me know what you think!

Sugar Fine Sand Youll need way more than 2-3 inches I say more that 5 inches
Rubble Rock
Cheatomorpha.

you just did
