Best Tang for Cleanup?

Of my Tangs, the Yellow Eye Kole is always cleaning and picking at everything. Right now he's swimming around "kissing" the front glass on the tank!

I would pick either a Kole Tang or a Tomini Tang (have one of these right now) for helping with cleanup. I desperately wanted to try a Scopas Tang but was not able to get one out of quarantine and finally gave up.

IME, the foxface we had did not help with hair or bubble algae cleanup. He was a pig for food I put in though and was a spaz that kept all the other fish on edge. Good riddance to that one... I have a very small bi-color foxface right now that does a little picking at the rocks but nothing noticeable.

I ended up getting a Halloween urchin that mowed down all the hair algae in a week... He is still cruising around many months later, but I am now worried he is not getting enough food! I have emerald crabs to help with the bubble algae.

Doesn't anyone worry about getting stung by a fox face. That's the #1 reason I don't have one. I'm terrified of getting "bit" by it's spines.

I may be speaking out of turn, but it strikes me that the venomous spines are for defense not offense. In other words, the fish is not likely to charge at you, spines forward, and stab you. So it would seem the best defense against being stung would be...don't touch it.

I worked in a LFS for several years and nobody there ever got stung... heard of it happening elsewhere but very rare as they will do their best to avoid your hand.

Don't let that aspect deter you if it's a fish that you would like and works well with your set up and inhabitants. Just simply be aware of its presence when doing a little aqua-scaping or adding/removing corals.

I used to have a rabbitfish, model citizen and ate all algae, I did always keep him in sight when I had my hands in the tank, he was not agressive but spooked easily, so was concerned he could accidentally sting me as it fled from something else.
