Best tank store

That is a pretty custom piece of glass they are using, and even more so on a 220. What is that 8' long? I would contact the people on that website and ask then we're they got their tank.

Why impossible with glass?

Here is a link of someone having it on the side so I know it's possible. I want mine along the back though. You kindve lost me for a second as I'm not savvy with building. Anyway here is the link

Hope the link is ok mods,I have a hard time with photos on mobile

I said near impossible, it could be done from a place that has the ability to cut the glass like that but it will come at a price.

Is it challenging to cut the glass like that? I had no idea I know nothing about glass. Well I guess all I can do is get some quotes and see..

Why not just get a ghost style overflow and save yourself the time, money and headache, instead of trying this.?

That is probably what I am going to do. I do really want to buy from aqua world bc they were really helpful as well.

I really hate the marine land stands though. They are so short. I'd need a custom built one.

I just really wanted to look into it because I plan on keeping this tank 10+ years so I might as well get what I want now. Then again it's 4x the price so I'm gonna have to think about it but hopefully a few more get back to me with cheaper prices.

Jeff makes custom acrylic overflows over at aquaworld.

I know but he said to get it the way they have it in the link you would need to get it built that way. He could do one similar but have the box inside. I really wanted it as in the link I posted above

well- i understand - you want, what you want. However, if that is too much hassle . then have Jeff make one that the best alternative.

Exactly. Thanks for the advice guys it's really nice having resources such as this.. I've never had a tank this big and I bought my last tank off another reefer so it's really a new experience for me buying a new tank

Marineland makes a taller stand as well, but it's about double the price of the standard

The Monterey stand. It's a tad under 36" so it falls short of what your looking for. Something that tall will def need to be diy or custom built by someone.

You can call Felix at Reef Savvy and talk to him for a custom glass build. They are expensive, but he does good work from what I understand.

He will not cut the slot coast-to-coast, but will make it close (maybe 6" from each side?). He may also try to sell you on a ghost overflow, but will do what you want if you insist.

I have no affiliation, and in-fact was a bit bothered by his "ghost overflow" being initially marketed with my drain system and no credit. I think he may have even tried to patent my design.... In any case, it is my understanding that he is one of the best glass tank manufacturers out there.

Yep- I heard they had great tanks and not super overpriced- I think "Ivantheterrible" has one - he has a build thread here on R/C. I contacted them , talked to a rep in PA - over 3 weeks ago- still waiting for a bid. Heard they have a 3 months lead time.

I just got a quote for a 300DD from c2c, delivered to my door with starfire on just the front with a external overflow will be a hair under $6k. Of course I would knock it down to $5k because I would just pick it up to save the $800 freight charge

Kinda weird that I still have not gotten my quote. HYbrid - how long did it take to get your quote?
