Best thing to cut PVC? 1.5"+

I really do not want to buy a miter saw, as this is probably the only thing I am ever going to use it for and I really want to stop handsawing, my arms are killing me!

What do you guys use to cut 1.5" and bigger PVC?

Go buy a miter saw. You'll be amazed how many times you'll find a use for it. Next thing you know you'll be building stands for everyone here.

Make sure you get a good blade for the job though. Big-toothed blades for cuttin' 2x4's and the like are NOT good for PVC. Just FYI.

Yeah, I might just go get one now.

hand held pvc cutters work well and are not expensive.

I have one, but it's only for up to 1", do they make some for 1.5"+?

Don't try and cut sch80 PVC in 1" or greater with a handheld....ask me how I know;). With regular PVC, the handheld cutters are ok. Cuts the smaller sizes easy, bigger ones take a bit of work. Miter saw FTW!

:-O

Good thing I read this before I left back to HD/Lowes...

Well, Josh says he has one I can borrow, maybe I can get him to use his manly strength too!

Used a hand saw. Made all my cuts last night, but sad part is.... the pump I was planning on using turned out to not be sufficient (Reeflo Snapper), I either have to upgrade to the Dart or possibly even the hammer head :(

At least now one of my arms got some muscles.... Lookin' like popeye!

This has to be the funniest thread ever .....buy the miter saw use it and sell it if you dont want it and be done with it ......all the time on here complaining you could have just drove over and borrowed one already and had the plumbing done in about 30 minn lolololo

As for the pipe cutting, we have handheld cutters that go up to 2" but man is it a PITA to cut like that. Hand or miter saw all the way especially if you have a good few cuts left to make

Lol, it's been done. Ended up just doing it last night while talking to a couple different people here on the forums while they made fun of me.

Way to drive up my self esteem guys!
