Best UV Sterilizer w Eheim 1262 Return

For a 120g tank a 25w aquauv should be sufficient. No need to run the 40w. That said, the Coralife is garbage. Don't waste your money. The 25w Aquauv will be much more effective. While it will likely help a bit with cyano, I don't think it will do much for GHA. I do however swear by UVs as they do have a very good impact on overall water quality and clarity and the AquaUV's are 2nd to none.

Agree with this post. I would however run it with its own pump and not inline with the return.

Also, plumb it in such a way that when the power is turned off to the pump the unit doesn't drain.

Installed Aqua UV 25W Unit

I am running it in the post filtered water in my sump off a 300gph max pump currently running at 50% capacity via it's settings. Install was smooth once all angles were worked out and the unit is very well built and the bulb/quartz look fully capable of assisting with clarity - at least.

See attached photo... Thank you for the Q&A!!!

With the output submerge doesn't that create some head pressure on your pump?

It shouldn't.

I have not noticed any loss of flow... that pump is running at approx 150gph... there is very slight turbulence from it. So far it has cleared the water channel noiceably. The fish look much more 'suspended in air' than swimming in the column.

So far so good!
