Best way to go!

In Memoriam
Put my first leather coral in a well cycled, fine parameter tank yesterday. It went from being all gray and now with hundred of brown polyps on the top and a slight mucus like discharge in 24 hours. Looks to me like its in the throes of departing this world!
Me thinks that perhaps a tank with sew snails, LR with red corraline maybe a few aptasia is the way to go! :) ps mushroon colony looks OK. maybe I will just stick with a tank of only mushrooms or zoanthids!

Give it time. It may just be acclimiating to your tank conditions such as lighting. As long as you had decent lights and water it should be ok.

i moved a leather from my clean water SPS tank over to my dirty mixed tank and it looked like it just about died but in a day it was open larger than ever before. mucus is normal anytime you disturb anything in the tank. it will pass.

Yep, it should be fine. I've had several of mine do that before. It makes you nervous when it happes but so far, mine have always pulled thru.
