Best way to upgrade a tank in the same location

I'd get a large rubbermaid and empty the entire tank before moving it.

That's what I did when upgrading from a 90 to 265 in the same spot; though in my case I needed 2 of the 150 gallon tubs (both of which I found used and flipped one of them afterwards). One for livestock and one for new water.

Depending on stock or customer, a 180 is going to be at least 400 lbs, maybe more. Took me and three additional equally husky chaps to carry in my 265.

4 people to carry 265? Pretty impressive!

How long (how many hours) was your transition in the rubbermaids? I assume you put some flow in there, but did you have lights?

Well, the tank was an even 400 lbs., so four husky lads (three of them much younger than me) and a lot of huffing and puffing got it onto the stand

I allocated a full day to the process, so livestock was in the tubs 8 hours max. Didn't bother to light them, just dropped in a heater and powerhead. Had zero losses and no cycle.

So the stand is on felt pads on a hardwood floor? Can you slide it?

I can slide my 150g that is up and running out from the wall by myself by pushing away from the wall. Surely you and some friends could slide it 10 feet.
