I bid on some what I thought were some sweet looking Paly's on ebay seller coralmarinelife that I thought would be great for my tank and a great trade I haven't seen anything like them. well long story short won the bid they shipped but 1st they shipped to the wrong house fedex sent them to 27703 instead of 27730 and to make it worse it was a old lady that got the package thinking it was her birthday and opened it saw small flowers in a bag of water and put them in a bowl with tap water. salinity 0.03 when I tested it and deliverd them sometime latter I contaced the seller saying I would like to file with fedex for damaged shipment he says they probably wont do anything and had refused to allow me to file so far since he is the shipper I need the ok other wise the money would go to him any way he said see if the recover well it's been 4 weels I am getting ready to leave feedback I am going to contact him one more time to show him what they look like if he does nothing should I leave negitive or chalk the 66 bucks up to experance? we have exchanged a couple of emails this is what has been said. have also filed with ebay doubt they will do anything but worth a try. this guy is a trying to pull a fast one and I don't like it aboid corallife marine

Dave,

To be honest, I really do not know what you are saying. We have a policy and that policy is we are not liable of FedEx. These are the same polyps on the auction! The size is the same! They are from the colony in the picture. We use a high Macro Lens
to get photos that are really close, they may look bigger but they are not.
No Dave we are not happy that this has happened to you. But you seem
to think that we need to pay be responsible for FedEx. That is never going
to happen. You take a risk when buying live animals through the mail. We
take a risk as well. This is why we replace all DOA items, but ONLY in future
packages. I really do not know what to say to make this policy clearer for
you to understand. We do not pay for shipping ever. FedEx has stated already
that this was delivered correctly, remember we talked to them a while back.
They are not going to credit anything, also they do not credit live animals. The
only thing they might help with is the shipping and they have denied that already.
I really have not more information to give you. You can believe what ever you like when
it comes to lighting. We have spent years testing light practices, all actinic and no actinic etc. I think we know what we are talking about, I personally have studied all over including working at some of the top aquariums in the world that keep marine coral species. Dave, we are at a loss for words. We do care about you a lot more than you think. Some times in business we have to take stand. If we gave into everyone who had a problem with FedEx or errors on there part like leaving there items on the door step, we would never be able to be in business. We wish we could just pay for shipping and grow more pieces etc, that would just go against what we do here. That being trying to have the lowest prices on the Internet. Sorry for what has happened and sorry you do not agree with the situation. This is were we are at with it though. One last quote, Dave sometime try to take two pieces of the same coral, put one under 10k and the other under 20k or Actinics. Leave them there for a month or so, then tell us what you see. I have seen this study first hand.

Take care,

John

happy John gets his money he should be happy none of
anything that happend id do to me your Auction stats
All Photos Were Taken Under 250 Watt 10,000 K Metal
Halide Along Side Of 110 Watt Super Actinic VHO
Lighting." I have 14 39 watt T5 with attiic which I
know for a fact corals to not feed of the spectric
like you say the 20k light is just to make corals
apear more pleasing to our eye they will not bleach
under a lower spectrim just maybe apear less blue
undre atinics they still apear nothing like what I
ordered I don't see why I am the only one fairly
punished in this here is a pic under 100% Atinics and
yes you are correct fedex delivered the corals wromng
and they have reprodused into there current morph
telling me that this is either permant or I did not
get the correct coral because if you look at these
palys they are nothing like the auction either in
color or shape and even size. I think it is fair to
ask for a reship on these or a refund from fedex while
I understand your poliy I also figure that this fairs
resonable understanding of my frustration and while
you think me spending another 30-40 bucks I do not.

Funny how most of his auctions feature 'scarce', ultra scarce', and 'ultra limited' zoos, yet he has multiple auctions of each.

I have bought from this seller before and honestly, the zoas I purchased were exactly what I expected. I have a 2 x 65 watt pc light, 1 x 10k and 1 x current dual actinic. They were a bit brighter when I first got them, but they are opening up wide now as they are in the shade of a branching hammer. The picture is grainy because I had to crop it as they are at the back of the tank.

ros_sco...They look nothing like the ones from the ebay sale. The ones from the ebay sale look like they are electrified or something, and yours are dull!

I was just checking out his current ebay sales! I love when someone is selling..."SUPER ULTRA BRIGHT NEON GREEN STAR POLYPS " That really makes me laugh!

IMO every single one of his pics is under straight actinics...I would love to see any of his corals while using a flash!!!

I am trying to figure out what the diference in quality is betwen "scarce" and "ultra scarce"!!!

I say beware of him also!

I have bought from this seller as well.. Everything that I ordered cam e just as pictured. I have bought from him several times and will continue to do so.

Here is an auction that I recently won.

Auction

Here is the same colony in my tank.

Dave, I think it's a tough situation. I honestly don't think the seller is responsible. He did his part, but Fedex didn't hold up their end. And he does have a point, he wouldn't be able to stay in business if he had to pay for others mistakes. He also said he would consider replacing it with something but only with the purchase of a new item. This sounds fair to me. No reason he should eat an expensive overnight shipping cost.

The colors could come back with time. I can only imagine the stress of being put in fresh water for a while is. Look at it this way, at least you have a living coral in the end rather than having nothing for the money you paid.

For the future, it's much easier to get your point across when using proper punctuation and spelling. Even I felt it was very difficult to understand what you were saying in a couple parts there.

I think this is sound advice.
About your zoos looking different than the ones in his ebay auction, I can't say for sure either way. Likely your water parameters and lighting are much different than his were and it does look like his is shot solely in actinic, which is misleading but nothing new for internet retailers.

Sounds like sour grapes to me.
The ebay seller can't do a thing about fedex mistakes.
If you find one that does you are lucky, but the ones that I have dealt with usually don't.
I accept this.
Let this be a lesson for you. Ebay pictures can be deceiveing, so are many website pictures.
You complain about spending $66 on the frag, well nobody forced you to bid.
Sorry if I seem harsh, but life is full of disappointments
I'd just leave the guy neutral feed back, "saying picture was different that what I got." And leave it at that. JMO

I remember seing that auction. After seeing so many pics and ten the real zoas, I have come to realize the "power of actinic". When I saw that auction, a kind of chuckled to myself thinking, "look at someone trying to pass those green pe's off as rare" (what is rare anymore). I hate to say it, but I think you got exactly what you bid on. though to be fair, their picture was probably taken under 100% vho actinic with flash off. Trust me, with all of my corals under 10k t5 lighting, I know they will look different in my tank than in the lfs tank who always use either 14k or 20k.

no this is about Buyer beware

no this is about Buyer beware

this corals are perfectly healthy I have already spoken to others that got this a simuler corals from this seller the exact same one I saw the pics and it looks just mine, no liittle old lady in that one. and all I originley asked was a chance to try to get fedex to work with me for there error, doesn't cost the seller a dime. as far as the spelling and punctuation well we are all bless with different things I was blessed with Dislexia and a bad school system. I do the best I can with both. I am sick of Photochopped sellers out there when I sell a coral I have three photo's in the tank with light I tell the lighting I have no flash same coral same lighting with flash and one last photo I feel if I need to photoshopped that says this is how the coral looks to me. this is fair to everybody.

I just hate it when people pick on others for having bad spelling and puncuation. We should all be able to get on here and share info regardless of our 'english' skills.

I also agree that fedex will do nothing unless the shipper makes the claim. If these die because fedex shipped to the wrong location, he needs this guys help to get his money from fedex.

As far as colors go, zoos will change color/shape/size depending on some enviromental variables. Move them higher or lower in the tank and see if it helps the color to change to something you like better.

People like that... have worse problems thin the ones with
the bad 'english' skills.:D

Driftwood, I'm not picking on anyone. It is what it is. If I can't follow what he's saying, then how am I supposed to understand what he wants? And of course you CAN get on here and share info regardless of your English skills, but once again if no one understands it, then what good is it anyway!

It's like that farmer Tom from the TV show Survivor a couple seasons ago. Every time he said anything, I would turn to my girlfriend and say, "What the he|| was that?????"
