Beware...salt burns corals

I may be the last one to know this, but the salt you mix can burn corals if not completely dissolved. I did a water change today and a tiny hunk of salt about the size of an eraser head failed to dissolve. My mom poured the water in the tank and before Iwas able to remove the hunk of salt it disappeared into my frogspawn. I tried to remove it but it was too late for my green with purple tipped frogspawn :( One head is almost for sure dead now...I really hope it'll come back :(

I've had bits of slat creep that I've knocked into the tank burn a leather coral.

Be sure that frogspawn gets good water flow and maybe a few feedings to help it recover. It's amazing what can bounce back. :)

My LFS hired a new kid before I was there that killed their entire 125 reef. Everything. He put salt DIRECTLY into the tank!!!! I hate LFS's. Even though I work at one... LOL.

ya a chunk burned a couple spots in my monti. Your frogspawn should recover in time. i accidentally blasted mine with kalk paste while trying to kill aptaisia...if mine can recover from that i think a little salt is ok. i cant even tell it was injured now only a month later, and it was down to bone.
