Just starting out with Aquarium Photography. Never crossed my mind before I found this forum. What I found in these forums was amazing and inspiring.

Can't say there will be a ton of stuff in here, or that what is in here will be good. Just a place to see how I progress.

Working with:

Hardware:
Nikon D90
Tamron 180mm Macro in Manual Focus mode
Remote to take photos

Software:
Lightroom for the basics
Photoshop when I need it

Things I have learned from the forums here and will implement:

Flow off
Shoot in RAW
Tripod needed
Use remote or timer

Thanks again for the tips and inspiration!

Good start. I am not a fan of straight on flash shots, but the first shot kind of works with this setup. Keep practicing and you will develop your own style of shooting.

All I have at the moment is the built in flash. Working on getting a speed flash that more configurable and face able.

So moved to daylight shots, no flash, messed with my lights a little to get the camera happier.

Nothing to brag about. Didn't remove spots, etc from the water. When I get something I really like, I will work on cleanup stuff.

Just upgraded to a D7200 this week. No real reason other than larger ISO range, and 7 years newer!

Just messing around after feeding time:
