Yes, I know the title pretty much describes all blennies...
I've had my Bicolor Blenny since early February, and he has been in the DT since mid-March (he and my firefish were my first fish). Up until recently, he exhibited typical behavior -- poking his head out of the rockwork and swimming briefly to another one of his favority hidey-holes in the rockwork. For the past couple weeks, he has been swimming constantly in the upper part of the tank. Sometimes he swims back and forth across the tank, and sometimes he "hovers" in a particular spot for a time. In fact, he never hangs out in the rockwork anymore. I've also noticed that he sleeps up high in the tank; sometimes on the algae clip that I keep in the upper right side of the tank, and sometimes on top of my MagFloat that I keep in the rear right of the tank. He doesn't appear to be sleeping in the rockwork at all.
He doesn't appear to be stressed, and he still picks at algae on the rocks and overflow. He also eats frozen prepared foods and nori with the rest of the fish at feeding time. The last additions to the tank were my Royal Gramma and my Foxface, which I added from QT in early June. The blenny and my McCosker's Wrasse sometimes pick at each other, but that has been going on for a few months now and never escalates.
Any ideas on what is going on, or is he just been a typical weird blenny?
