big clown in nanocube

Hi all,

I just put a pair of Dr. Macs clowns in my nanocube. While I asked for a "small" pair, (and the male is) the female is huge (over 3 inches). Are they going to be ok in the 12gal nanocube? I am worried "Big Bertha" as she is now being called by those in the office, is going to overwhelm the little guy under these tight quarters. Thoughts?

As the only fish in the tank Id say youd be ok. Just amke sure you keep up with the water changes and have efficient filtration/ skimming to remove waste and organics. Good luck and get ready for parenthood.

Many posts on it, but I am waiting for my Polymnus pair to get in the mood. They are still young. I read that it can happen in a couple of months and /or take up to a year once they settle in the tank. Maybe a breeder who views this can help.

My tank bred Oscellaris are fine in my 12 gal nanocube. Have been in there for over 2 years and are breeding machines (every 10 days). They are the only fish in the tank now. Male is about 1.5" and the female is a fat 3". I change about 1.5-2 gallons every 7-10 days....all depends upon when their eggs hatch and I have time in that 2-3 day lull when there are no new eggs.

Yours will be fine in that tank. To be honest mine never even venture to the other side of the tank and that is a whole 12" away!
