Anyone have a big drill i could borrow to drill my rock? I bought a 3/4" masonry bit but it does not even come close to fitting my drill. Thanks Chris

There is places where you can rent them. or atleast there is a place here. Call some place that deals with either farm equiptment or contruction and ask them if theres a place that rents that kinda stuff around because they usually rent both kinds.

another thing you can try is get a normal size masonry bit, like a 3/8 and drill 3 or 4 small holes and tap it out with a chisel. I have several sizes of masonry bits.

I got a nice big set of drill bits for christmas that came with some hardened masonry drill bits, lol. Im itchin to see what they'll do, hahaha

I got 1/8 thru 1/2" of the masonry bits. Id have to run to the shop to see what the biggest bit I have. If its fiji rock, you wont need a hardened masonry bit because I can cut it with a pair of clippers I use for fragging.

i will have to see if i can drill through some with a regular drill bit but i have to make a 3/4 hole to fit the dowel thru

take that drill bit back, and buy a 1/4 bit, drill 4 holes in a square, and whack the center with a chisel, and should have a 3/4 hole.

yeah it could be a little bigger but trying to get a fairly snug fit if we get thorite i can always backfill the hole too

Whats the curing time on it? Thats another thing you have to think about. I think its like 24hrs for it to fully cure and 48 before its reef safe. Im not positive though
