Big fish?

I have a 46g bowfront with just 4 fish: scooter blenny, chromis, pajama cardinal, and a black spot red damsel. I plan on one day having a pair of mating clowns. I'd like to eventually get one more fish, is this advisable? If so, what is the biggest fish I could get for the 46g that would be fine with the mentioned tank mates? Thanks :)

I would think you can get one more, but it depends on the fish. There is often the argument that the fish you have "don't count." It's not quite true but in my opinion the fish limit is more like housemates. If your housemates never leave their room and are quiet, you can have more before you go insane. If you have one who constantly annoys you and moves around alot, you may not be able to have one.

Your scooter probably is more of the sit around fish, the cardinal the same (although I'm not sure.) The damsel is the annoyer, and the chromis in the middle. So if you add another quiet fish, no problem, a fish that swims around alot, more likely to cause trouble.

I am not an expert.

Yeah, all my fish are pretty quiet. The damsel sometimes schools with the chromis but mostly spends all day looking for pods. I hardly notice the other two fish. My tank just seems so sessile compared to most other reef tanks; anthias, tangs, and angelfish zooming in and out of the rockwork. Maybe I will get a few more chromis for some motion in the tank. Or possibly a dwarf angel? I don't have any sps for an angel to snack on :)
