Big Momma wont let up

Hey guys,
I asked this question about 3 weeks ago and no one really gave me a time so here it is again. I have 2 per. clowns and the bigger one will not let the little guy come out until the lights come out. This has been going on for nearly a month now and the little guy really isn't looking as colorful any more. He hides behind my PS pump all day and when he does venture out big momma goes after him and chase's him all over. How long will this last?

It could last another day or may never stop. Not the answer you were looking for I'm sure. Here's the deal. Females can be VERY territorial especially when establishing their territory. It has been a month, that phase should be over, so now it is an issue with the mate. Either the smaller is a female already and she's driving out the competition or she doesn't like the male. If it is a male, she could grow to accept him but an exact amount of time??? you may as well bet the house on who will win the Superbowl this next year. If the other fish is already female, they will never get along. Percs have a tendancy toward rude behavior. Your best chance is a LARGE female and a really small male.
