two new saddlebacks have been added to the tanks..... apparently one of their customers have successfully bred two saddlebacks in captivity at her home and they are now kept in the tank at east coast... i was just their today and they were quite a site... so tiny.. ive never see any so small. They also seemed quite healthy and to be thriving. if anyone has a chance you should head up there if you are interested..

yes they are pretty cool! you should see them when they are the size of a flee :D

we got pretty lucky with them laying the eggs on the tile. they were in a different tank that was bare bottom and they were laying on the bottom already, so when we moved them to there own tank with a substrate we put the tile in and they went right to it.

the anemone is Stichodactyla hoddoni

Is there a common name? I think its also called a carpet anemone, but wanted to check.

it would be considered a carpet anemone but there are many others also considered carpets. this species is probably the easiest of the carpets to keep but is extremely aggressive and i wouldn't recommend keeping one with other fish that you like because eventually they will become anemone food

they are actually sebae as far as i can tell.. and i did know they were the ones we got from scubadoo2. :) im a smart cookie!
mbbuna- did you keep your clowns in a bare tank by themselves? or did you scoop the babies out when they hatched... what did you dp to feel the babies and keep them alive?
i would love to breed my sebaes and give them away to ppl who want them or to fish stores to help them out.

they were temporarily in our 75g tank thats is supposed to be our clam tank, we had just set up a 24g tank just for them when they started laying eggs so we left them in the 75g for a few more months while we gathered equipment to try to raise them. after we successfully raised a few batches we moved them over to there own tank. we waited to move them because most of the info says that if moved they may take months to do it again or may never do it again. they never skipped a beat and still lay eggs every 12 days.

the babies need to be feed live rotifers 3x a day for the first 15 days or so. the rotifer density needs to be closely counted out because if you feed too much you kill them and too little you kill them.

trust me, the amount of work it takes to keep them alive and the amount of $ needed for salt, equipment, food ect... you wont be giving them away:D we are not making money, we actually lose money but the little we get helps pay for fish food and salt.

if you really want to try this get the book i linked to in the other thread
