Big news for angelfish fans of RCT

I spoke to Frank a few days ago... again he has angelfish and things are chugging along... expect something this year... aside from that I cannot say much more... just be ready... :)

A nice fish... but not from Frank... there are many wild resplendens in Japan... my last trip there I went to three different houses each with wild resplendens in just one day!

This tank I photographed had wild resplendens in with a hybrid baby of my pair below... it was kind of cool telling some random guy around the world I owned the parents of his fish!

Great Photos! I think I can spot the hybrid in the first photo below the sarcophyton.

Yup I have noticed that! many videos I have seen of Japanese tanks had resplendens in them. I was jumping from one video to the other and they kept popping up, it was almost predictable!

Yes... back in the day when I got into the hobby the US used to have a number of them... and they sold for less than African flamebacks sell today!

One question for you off topic... I was worried about hijacking the thread but I realized I started it, so what the heck... what is the hobby like in Lebanon? My father traveled there on business before I was born in the early 70s...

Thank you for asking John, your father visited when beirut was at its prime!

The hobby was quite poor over here for a long period of time. Over the past year many new stores have opened and the older ones developed a little better. We are still very very very far from what you normally see on the reefing scene in other countries, but getting better. In terms of fish and corals, we are a far cry from what you guys receive. Being a huge fish fan (very lonely one in Lebanon!) 90% of my fish come here in my/my friends suitcase! All the shipments are from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore (with a very few exceptions), and we never get any of the interesting fish. I have brought back fish & corals with me from Tokyo, London, Vancouver, Dubai, Cairo, Guangzhou, Ho Chi Minh City, and most recently from Belgium (mitratus).

We are a group of 4-5 reefers who really know what they are doing (hopefully!) and we help each other as much as possible. I have ordered all my equipment from overseas for my new build as over here it is either very expensive or not available to start with.

enough with the rant and back to angelfish... please check pm!

I will see to it that somehow you get your fill in South Africa Yuri... ;)

Okay... they're in my favorite fish family... :)
