Big sale at Mermaid Aquarium this weekend

I just got a call from Max and he's running a big livestock sale this weekend down in Freemont. I can't post the prices here, but he's making all kinds of deals on top quality maricultured Bali and Tongan Acro colonies, beautiful LPS like Micromusa, Blastos, and Echinos, as well as zoos and softies.

If you had a chance to witness the deals he was slinging at the Western Marine Conference, you might have an idea of the prices he's willing to offer you. He's between 680 and 880 on Mission Blvd, and a map can be found here: http://www.mermaidaquarium.com/contact.html

The colonies I grabbed at the WMC were crazy cool, and I wish I'd picked up one or two of those table Millies, but word on the street is that Mike Paletta scored one of those wild pink tables and sometime soon it'll be offered for all you "Name-Brand-LE-Super-Rare-Lineage" guys as the "Mermaid Milli". If memory serves me, Frank Burr (The Coral Oasis) was eyeballing that very same colony so he could slap his name on it but wasn't willing to pony up the cash for it.

If you don't want to pay for a coral that's already been named by someone, go down there & buy it and name it yourself. If you haven't been to the store, you're missing out.

Irony of the whole thing is that Mermaid's corals (nice size colonies) were FAR superior (color and size) to the other LE brown frags that were being sold by another vendor at the WMC. Mermaid is definitely a topnotch seller! Of course Your Reef had some nice pieces also!

If it wasn't for the NVR meeting, I would say lets do a road trip!

Too bad I am in DC or I would have to take a road trip!!!
Max had some great corals at the WMC, and I got some great pieces. I think the colonies that I got could give Paletta's pick a run for the money. Mermaid had an impressive set-up with an unbelievable selection and fantastic prices.

Anybody want to do a road trip to Mermaid, Aquatic Gallery, and Atlantis run on the Saturday after the next Mars meeting?

I didn't buy it because tank conditions didn't look too healthy on Sunday and I didn't want to take a chance since those wild/ocean aquaculture has a tendency to STN.

I didn't see any vendor with LE corals at WMC, I sure didn't bring any! since those are reservation only.

Is that what happened to that A. plana you got from me 6 months ago?

Yourreef had some superman danae, least it use to be an LE. All LE's asside there were some pretty stuff there regardless, But in my honest opinion the most healthiest looking corals came from yourreef.
The two other venders either had brown corals or were bleached and nocking on heavens door, or very faded colors,am I the only one who saw this?Or the only one wholl be honest enough to say anything?

Actually - Both Mermain and YourReef did have some really nice pieces at a great price as well. :D I didn't see any brown in either tank. Mermaid had some bleaching on some acros. But all of his other corals were AWESOME!

comon.....i was at the show also and the only real sponsor that was selling nice beautiful coral from there tank was Max at Mermaid Aquarium. Youreef was nice too but......it was mostly little frags. I even saw them come over to Mermaid endless tank and bought corals themself. Even some of the guest speaker bought some. As for other people comments on brown corals and bleach out faded colors to bad water condition respone.... stop hating and be happy that Max at Mermaid Aquarium sponor the show with a awesome display.

Comon yourself,Im not hating at all, Im just not in denial either! :p I will be the first to admit I bought a coral from Max at a steal of a price.Even gave him props for it on another thread. It definately wasnt bleached, and had great coloring; But it wasnt an acro, or monti either :p For which my observation still stands.
