BigDaddyD1992's 40g breeder 20g long sump build!!! Pictures!!!

I planned on buying copeopods from algaebarn, anyone have any experiences with them? And im going to get some other micro fauna from a place called inland aquatics, any experiences with them also?
I bought from them. Wasn't impressed but wasn't completely disappointed.

No I don't think so, but others might say differently.
Have you had success from other brands with seeding your aquarium with pods? I also think im going to go through inland aquatics for some other micro fauna and other cleanup crew members. Any success from anuone with them?

This was the first I've used. So I can't offer you any specifics on comparison.

So exited about this tunze osmolator 3155! It was better then christmas opening up the shipping box! Also picked up a couple of nets and a nice drip aclimater from innovative marine. Its coming together now! Just need to buy a couple of more miscellaneous items and ill be ready to fill her up! Dont give up on me yet guys! It wont be long now!!!

I can't wait to see it up and running myself. I'm doing a 40 breeder also with a 20 long sump with refugium, Herbie overflow. I'm trying to decide if I want dual returns or just one single return as I was thinking about the overflow in the middle of the tank.

Thanks! The 2 returns and overflow in the center sounds pretty cool id go with that! What stuff do you have for your 40 breeder?

I just started a couple weeks ago. I have my Aqueon 40 breeder and 20 L tank and my 1200gph overflow box, with glass drill bits for 1" drains and a 3/4" return and need to decide if I'm brave enough to drill 4 holes instead of 3 holes. I have HW-Marinemix Reefer Salt and I have cut black acrylic for my sump dividers for the refugium etc and have a 6 stage RO/DI unit.

I'm ordering this week, 50 lbs of dry rock, 60 lbs of dry sand, MarsAqua 300watt, AutoAqua Smart ATO Micro - Automatic Top Off System. Probably will finalize my plumbing and buy also.

Things I'm still trying to decide are my wavemakers and return pump..was thinking Jebao DCT-6000 for my return pump still considering others and protein skimmer. There are things like test kits and so forth also that I need to buy also. I bought a stand at Petco but I don't feel confident enough in it holding everything, so now I think I'm going to build one myself. I'm sure I forgot a few small things, but that is why I have a list of what I need and I am buying.

I still have probably another month..:hammer: I will be using Dr. Tim's One and Only Nitrifying Bacteria and have 8" x 8" x 4" Plate Marine Pure Ceramic Biomedia after my refugium between it and the bubble trap.

i heard some mixed reviews about them pumps, no personal experience just what i heard. What protein skimmer where you thinking about? And what light were you thinking? I had plan on implementing a marinepure block into my system as well at some point. What rock will you be going with?

Yes, I been reading the threads about the Jeabo's on here, so this is why I haven't decided fully yet on the return pump or wavemakers.

This is the light I'm getting: Mars Aqua 300Watt http://www.ebay.com/itm/390885496493?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

There is like a huge 40 page thread on them in the lighting forum and I took several days to read post on it and feedback.

Skimmer I'm unsure and I was considering a SC Aquariums SCA-301.. still unsure..lol

Rock I'll probably go with the Dry Reef Saver Rock or the Dry Figi Rock.

Nice, isn't it funny the amount of planning that goes into a build!? Have you started your own build thread yet?

Planning is essential in my book and I've spent weeks and countless hours. I've spent so much time reading and researching and watching videos.

I'm trying to narrow down my pumps and wavemakers. Which ones are you going to use?

I don't have a build thread just yet, but I'm subscribed to this one and I'll let you know when I do one.

Make sure you do let me know lol! Im going to be using a Syncra Silent 2.0 Pump (568 GPH) by Sicce. And i have 2 600 gph hydor korillias (i have one more if i need it) at first, once i get some corals in there i will be switching to 2 ecotech marine mp10s. From what ive read and seen they are some of the best in the business. Theyre expensive but u get what you pay for if you ask me. 😉

I have been looking at the Syncra Silent pumps also and I was looking at these for wave makers. I just hate to buy something now. Knowing I will replace it cause at the end of the day that means I'd actually be spending more money.

I also need as silent operation as possible because the tank will be in my room...lol hence the vertex skimmer, sicce return pump, and mp10s lol.

Lol good point! U going to use Mirical Mud in the fuge?

I'm considering using it. I have not did enough research on the pro's , con's of going either way. I know I will be growing some different algae's. I've wasted another good chunk of the day researching wavemakers and return pumps...lol
