Yeah i originally wanted to go with a blue dot jawfish but i read they're from a little bit cooler temps then what we run or tropical reef tanks at. But the yellow heads were the perfect substitute, and a lot easier on the wallet aswell lol! Hopefully they'll be a little less shy today for pictures!Love Yellow Heads! Came across one at a local muck dive site and watched him for 15 minutes. Love when they clean their burrows, spitting sand out. Very comical! Tank is coming along great!!!

I love the miracle mud!!! My miacro algae is thriving and the micro fuana that i seed my tank with has really exploded!! I mean i started off with 4 mysid shrimp down in my fuge and now there's 30+ that i can count! The copepods and amphipods really seem to like it too, amphiods in particular! I can't say much as far as coral health goes with this substrate since i just got coral last weekend, but the fish health is exponential! Now i cant entirely say it's the miracle mud doing this but many who have used it before claim it really helps with fish and coral growth/health. I highly recommend this stuff!!You definitely need to try Scuba, or at least Snuba (Hooka diving, no real heavy certification) just to be in their world. Its what got me into this hobby!
Just a quick question, how do you like using the Miracle Mud for the 'fuge? I'm interested in doing a multi-algae 'fuge with it as well.
I really like this pump, super quiet, and super easy to disassemble for cleaning. I havent had one problem with it. If you plan on going sps heavy it wouldn't hurt to go up to the 3.0 if you ask me. But if youre doing a mixed reef i think the 2.0 would work fine!!Also, how is that Syncra 2.0 working for you? Are you happy with it?

Yeah that should do just fine for sure! I want to have 2 mp10's also, i plan to buy then one at a time. $280 for one is pretty rough by itself lol.Don't think I will start with sps corals at first, maybe when the tank is older. Was thinking just some softies, zoas and maybe some lps to start. Want to progress really slow with the stocking. I also have two MP-10's that will be inside the DT so to start, that should give me plenty of water movement.
Sweetness!!! Is that a function of the apex programing, i.e. just using the Apex instead of the Ecotech Smart controller? How hard was it to program? I would definitely be interested in the Apex just for this alone!Dude,
I have to look back at your thread, but if you're running an Apex, definitely get the wQD MP10s. I have 2, 40s and the Apex changes modes and intensity throughout the day. At one point it's raging to suck up the detritus, then to lagoon mode for a while.

When the Apex "finds" a Vortex, it creates an example schedule that allows for about every mode and flow rate. You can do about anything you want in a few minutes. Each pump can have its own schedule too. It's the Ecotech controller that takes the feedback from the Apex. Highly recommend.
I think hes finally settled in! Hes about an inch away from where i put him and hes been there for 3-4 days now and i think he likes that spot. Kinda scared for when i get my first ecotech marine mp10QD if he'll move because of the change in flow. If i were you I'd just hite the bullet and get one. Way too fun to watch! But the clown still hasn't made his way to the nem yet...I have always wanted a BTA. You would think with three tanks I would have one. I am always afraid it will travel and touch the coral(s) before settling in its spot. Where did it finally settle...need the middle level of the tank? Tank is coming along!
