Bio media for quarantine?

Looking for a bio media that I can sterilize, I'm thinking of bio balls or ceramic. I know the bio balls will sterilize fine with bleach. But I think the ceramics are a better media, just not sure if bleaching them is a best idea. I'm worried they might not rinse clean.

I plan on leaving a mesh bag of media in my sump so its ready to go when I need it.

Both have their disadvantages. In the case of cleaning and sterilizing, bio-balls would be the better choose. You can clean with Bleach, rinse, and soak in Prime for a day, then let dry for 24 hours. Ceramic would soak all the bleach up and also if any medication is used in the tank with ceramic media, it's going to soak up the meds and give you a false reading. I would say Bio-balls, but they are nirate factories.

I never use any bio filter media in QT (I don't even have a filter on my display). The tank walls usually provide enough settling ground for bacteria.
In some cases I use foam or filter mats in combination with HOB filters or powerheads to remove food rests and poo. But this requires daily cleaning.

I found Real Reef man made rock to be ideal for QT as it provides caves for the fish and settling ground for bacteria and algae and can later be sterilized by boiling, bleaching or drying (or all of those if you want to be extra safe).

I use the ceramic balls. Put them in the oven at 400 degrees for 1 hr and your good to go. Have done it countless times

Matrix or Siproax.

I was hoping someone would chine in and say Siporax. I just picked up 5 Litres of Siporax. It is seeding in the sump currently and I'll use it for QT from now on.

My tank just went through a fallow period so I know it's clean.

I use this too, bought 50L and have it seeded for the 625g
