I've played around with mine. I do like reefcrest mode but I've also used short pulse, long pulse, steady flow, and NTM as well. Right now I'm on reef crest. I usually set mine to go ~60% max.

hey there..
maxi 1200 will cause little more heat temp...I sold mine and got me hydor 1200 its awesome, LOW watt and reduce heat temp.
Be sure to clean return pump once or twice a month.
I removed eblow 90* (return pump tube) and made it like curve tube for better flow.
MP10 I set TSM- 75%

What tubing did you use? I have a Hydor 1200 but the HD tubing would bend and crimp the flow. I'd like to go back to it over the MJ900.
i used clear tube -vinyl by home depot.
if you can find black or white then use it cuz my clear vinyl loves alage, it built some spot of green on tube once a while i cleaned it. its PITA.
i cant find black or white at store..most online..but need to order large. forget it. ha
i dont remember the size outlet hose by pump is but bring the pump with you to store for test fittting.

Do you glue down your frag plates? I have some loc-tite control gel that I tried using, but a nepthea (I was warned that it would) and a mushroom came off. So now I'm wondering how and if I need to glue down the frag plates once I get them in a spot I like.
Can the gel be placed on the frag plate, then stuck to the rock without taking the rock out of the tank?

The blasto's aren't as they're a plug and there's a convenient hole in this location. The hammer is on a flat plate and I have it just sitting there for now until I'm sure I like it. If so I'll take it out, put some glue on the bottom of the plate, stick the hammer back in upside down slowly so that the saltwater will cause the glue to get a "skin" so that I can slowly move it through the water and then stick it in place. Make sure your pumps are off! You can also apply it in the water but you take a chance of it ruining the remained of the glue after that day's use.

He's getting more confident. Generally hangs out right where you see him in the pic. When I see sand poring from that cave I know he's at work!
And yes, I spend quite the bit of time staring at the tank. Saw a bristle worm crawl across the sand a few minutes ago!

Hilarious! Just watched my blenny charge a hermit and knock him down to the sand! That's at least the second time he's done that.

RapidLED BC29 retrofit kit ordered. Neptune Systems PM1, EB8, VDM, and breakout box ordered. Also ordered an Eheim autofeeder for vacations. Hope to have everything installed and ATO running in a few weeks!
I bought my float switches from aquahub... but I think they get them from someone else (many people talk about getting the float switches from some place in chicago, and mine were shipped from chicago).
I got 3 switches, a low and a high for the tank, and a low for the reservoir. Aquahub also sells connections so you can slip a piece of tubing over the wire to keep water from touching the wire and top of the float switch (they allegedly aren't submersible). I sort of fabricated my own for the low switch out of tubing and silicone. I also got a snail/slosh guard for the low switch.
I only mention this because the above was done in three rounds after I figured out what I wanted... with three rounds of shipping.

LOL! Thanks for the heads up! I didn't even think about a low switch for the reservoir. I also plan on 2 high's in case one fails. Hopefully I can fit that into chamber 3 of the BC! ATO is going to be so nice though. Ultimate goal is to be able to automate the tank, including feedings, for when we're on vacation.
Instead of a 2nd high switch, i limited the ATO to only pump for a few minutes. If it went over this time limit, then shut off the ATO and send me an email.
The way I have it now, my ATO pumps water several times a day. so the pump is only on a few seconds (enough water to lift the low switch). I'm not sure if this is the right way to do it or if it is hard on the pump. If I ever get to dosing Kalk in the reservoir, I might limit it to nightime topping off only.
If you get the autofeeder up and running, please share how you did it.
