Hi,

After setting up my wavebox for the first time, i noticed a small and very short bip sound coming from the 7240.27 driver. The wavebox is producing waves in my 1 meter (200 litre) aquarium but there is nothing about this small bip in the instructions manual. Is this normal?
I noticed also that this driver heats up more than my 7240.26 that i use on my 6000.
What do you think about this?

Well, i opened it (the pump) and cleaned but the noise is still there, not very noticeable but still there from time to time.
The driver is warm near the top, the rest of the body is cold.
Is this caused by the inicial "unwearout" or is it justo normal?

Alex

It is often part of the initial wear in. The decision was made to make the alarm much more sensitive to avoid damage to the pump from lock ups and power surges. The alarm reroutes the power to the speaker and away from the pump. It isn't a perfect solution as the driver is now very sensitive and new pumps that still have to wear in and dirty pumps will trip the alarm.
