Bird's nest and cat's paw dying from the bottom up

Hi guys,

I'm quite confused about the situation with some of my SPS. I purchased a purple bird's nest a few months ago which did quite well for a few month. The color changed from purple to a faint orange and then I started noticing some bleaching at the tips and a dark grayish on the bottom branches. My green cat's paw is also turning dark gray on the bottom. I'm using a sunpod with 2 250hqis 7 hours a day with the moon lights on 24/7. All my softies seem to be doing fine as well as my clam. I have an ora green birds nest and a red planet frag both seem to be doing fine. I don't dose with calcium and didn't do the regular 10 gallon WC i used to do with reef crystals.

I can't tell what the issue is, is it light? Is it not enough calcium in the water?

Thanks!

not enough light at the bottom. sudden tissue necrosis. happens. either chop the bottom off and frag it and save it all or it will slowly die from the bottom up ... seems to be contagous

i lost many sps due to this. its a 90gal frags were placed mid to third quarter height. It will continue to spread from the bottom up until dead? Red planet seems to be doing fine, same with the green ora birdsnest. One of the dead ones was practically on the 3rd 4th quarter height and still died.

Can we see a picture? Sometimes a birdsnest is white on the bottom and in the inside a little. Mine is like that but continues to grow and looks pink as ever. Many corals that are shaded are a little more pale. Don't cut it up just yet until you get some more opinions.
