If you don't mind me butting in to your local forum...
Birdsnest is a tricky one and it really is a shame when they get big because the inside of the coral dies from lack of light/flow. Every one I had that got huge ended up dying from the inside out.
Frag it into large peices. Pull the coral out and start at the back middle. Get your bone snips into the back side and look for a thick branch that will have the best odds of splitting it. You will get some damage due to all the branches but trust me when I say its better to butcher a birds nest then watch it die overnight because some food got into it and rotted causing it to rtn.
BTW: I work in Oklahoma close to Shawnee during the week and fly back home to Denver on the weekends. So I guess I am starting to become a local regardless if you want me to be one or not haha...
