Birdsnest - is this normal?

Noticed this white patch on my Birdsnest. Every other part seems fine. It is on an area that faces down slightly so it's definitely not because of too much light. Any ideas what it could be and is there anything I can / should do? Thank you.

It's normal for white to develop on the underside of birdsnest coral due to their structure. Mine retain thier polyps however, but just "bleach" from light deficiency. It looks like you may be losing tissue?

Mine are brown to nearly clear on the underside depending on the degree of shading. The side towards the LEDs is green. Though the transition from brown areas to nearly clear is gradually.

Yours looks like something is eating on it.
I would break out the magnification glass or microscope to see if there are some flatworms or other tiny parasites.
But I would also put in a night-shift to see if some crabs, worms or other critters are taking a midnight snack.

Another option could be tissue necrosis due to sub-optimal water conditions.

Did it just start? What kind of flow do you have? I had problems before when my flow was a litle lacking.

Alk ca mag?

As others said it should be a litle bit pale not losing tissue on the under. side double check all ypur water prams and when is the last time you aded any thing wet?
