birth of 2 builds totaling 30k gallons

OK... So.. what about the engine (sump area) What are your plans there?

Also, what are your plans for the flooring of that observation space? Right now it is 'dirt floor' but how is that going to look once you get it finished?

Worm and rick. The filter rooms now have to be built. The extend 14 feet beyond what appears to be a garage door and is 21 ft long. Obviously that garage door is gone at some point. The two rooms will be built with new foundation and one is actually 10 foot below the tank grade in sub basement. There will be steps to go down and an outside lift that goes down also. Both rooms will have separate hvac and humidity zones. So the two pump rooms will be on the outside of house. I beleive the way it's laid out now, both tank sumps and engines are in sub basement with water change vats. And upstairs in basement level will be skimmers and other filters and quarantine. When I get plan I will post. The floor in basement is one of those new wood looking tiles. Looks like wood floor but really is tile. That floor needs to come up a little to grade so all the fiberglass on large tank is buried.

Thanks rick. Just need to go through some construction now and house underpinning. Getting tank in was necessary cause now we can start the new foundation and extention just in time for spring.!

I see all the romex wire hanging, is half of your power out in the house. Spring is a good time for new construction. I did a sub-basement for a customer that was used by their sons garage band for practice. Could not hear a thing on their first floor, needless to say, they were very happy. lol

Yes rick. Power issues all over house. Building that sub basement under a large chimney so they need to underpin cement from side to side Think we still waiting for engineer report. Its a regular 10 ft dig but i also need to bury 3500 gallon and 2 1500 gallon water change vats. So we need to dig dn further

By clean you mean front glass? We are still looking into magnets. But 4 inches thick and scratching are issues. There is a grated cat walk on top we can sit on and work from there. Or the old wet suit with electric air compressor and regulator , and you scuba in. Im sure as we placing corals we will be in water

Andrew, what's with the rumor that if you have done the tank sooner, Scorsese wanted to fill it with naked women and film a scene for Wolf of Wall Street?

:eek1:

You mean in my alter ego single life. Lol. Luckily i have a new partner my fiancee who allows for excess just in this hobby. That movie was nuts. Even for hedge fund guy. Balance man. !!!

Plan on getting wet to clean that big boy, I had a 750 gallon 8' x 3' x 4' for three and half years. Once a week....dive....dive....dive:) also need someone on other side helping spot areas to clean and areas missed. Being in the water with the lighting from above makes it easy to miss areas looking thru a mask.
Worth saying each time to yourself don't get in a hurry and use new sponges, blades, what ever is used. You will find what works for you in no time then once you have finished cleaning sit back and enjoy!

Thanks everyone. Definitely wet suit bound. And I will learn as we go along. We need to get the rock designers in next to create the model we layed out and start cementing. I know we will need another few palates of Marco rock. And we will have to rent crane lift to get them over and down. The one that are in tank now we're the huge ones. At least this part is dry!! Pwharn who you work for? I'm a growth oriented long short equity shop.
