We have not but I think it maybe a good idea to contact him. In fact that's on my list to do. If you find a contact email or tele let me know. I can learn from his mistakes or if he has any new ideas.

This tank is only a few minutes from my house apparently. Their was a preview in the paper a few years ago, but I missed it. Really not sure where he is, but its in the same county as me... Would be awesome to have tours and get to see it.

For all those wanting pics of the model I wil have better. They have been working over last 3 days and a majority of the basic rock work is completed. Still have to sculpt and cement but wow!! Will be posting pics soon.

Denise. Yes we use 8 halides with 4 reflectors. 2 bulbs in each 400 watts each so 800 watts per reflector. We control geta by cutting out small holes in top of reflector and replace with double fans to draw heat out. We are using combos of either radium 20k and hamilton true 10ks or radiums and ushio 14k. We only leave the whiter lights on half the photo period of the blues.from 12 to 4. Radiums run from 11 to 6. Also we supplement with t 5 s and vho actinics and 7 Kessel a 360 leds. Theres plenty of blue supplementation around the halides cause the white from the 10k or ushio 14k is like yellow/ white and even the blue radiums don't wash them out.

Also Denise which salt are you referring to. The red sea blue bucket or my hush hush custom stuff I wasn't suppose to tell anyone about. Frankly I like them both. And havvt used the new custom stuff enough yet and I'm not sure they have the formulation down consistent enough.

Drew, I meant the hush, hush stuff. I thought you used the regular ESV but you use Red Sea? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm trying to copy you a little. Your lights must look outrageous - like the best of all options. No wonder your tanks are so beautiful!

Sometimes 800watts have been too much especially with vodka dosing and gfo. But I like the custom aspect of introducing some 10k into tank for a short time period and 2 bulbs gives way more choice and color mix. I've tried ushio 14k with radiums and sometimes it's just too much blue spike also cause both bulbs have. Then again radiums lack much violet and the 10ks out there have plenty. I've even tried using 250 watt on the white portion and 400 on blue to get less burn.
