birth of 2 builds totaling 30k gallons

For netting you could also use clear or black veil material from a sewing shop.

For a surge, there are very low-profile cantilever designs which extend out sideways instead of up.

For cucumbers and CUC, yes they should keep everything chewed up in the substrate, but natural reefs are getting about a pound of food input per cubic meter per day, so you may not need as many cucumbers as you saw there.

I'll have to check out ny aquatic. Don't really ever use that site or even get alerted. How do you know. Website?? Also on subject of new tank I'm not worried at all I'll have all the flow planned this time I need. Several 10s and 5 hp pumps with massive closed loops. The surge thing is not really an option for me as its tight enough above as it is. I only have 3 foot max above me. That's without lights. And have to maintain cat walk so I can get in and out and air tanks etc. Was just thinking about exiting set up and flow. The sand thing Dave about putting heavier stuff on top is good idea. Just a little unsightly relative to that nice crystal fine sand. But something I'm willing to give shot. Thanks.
I would use a hooka system rather than tanks if I were you. You can do this with tanks and just run long lines in to the tank when you need them. Big tanks on your back are harder to deal with in a closed environment, too much of a chance of backing into something or the front panel and scratching it. This is how a lot of public aquariums do it and it works much better.

IIRC pmrogers is looking at some sort of mask and hose arrangement for his tank. It would probably be worthwhile following to see what arrangement he settles on as he is very meticulous and careful of what he chooses.

I use it now. But all my coral stn occurs after a change. I've tried using 2 canisters and rotating so it's never exhausted then stripped. That has helped. I also read somewhere about a new bio pellet on aquarim specialty that absorbs more po4 than normal pellets. All in one something. But someone needs to try it. If that works on new big tank that would be easy!!! I'm not fan of gfo in general but I use it to keep po4 in. 07 to. 12 range.

The pellets sound interesting. I'm not a gfo fan,...to much work. I bought this because I'm pulling all my rock in batches and running LC through it in a final attack to stop it from the leaching PO4. I'm going to use the gfo to finish it off,...it's not going back into the tank until my Hanna reads 0 for several days in a row. I use vinegar right now to keep the NO4 and NO3 in check,...but I don't have a fish load right now either, that's why I would like to try pellets at some point.

Reeflakes sand container at sea

And its unavailable. There was a blurb I found from Premium Aquatics stating they didn't know when they were going to get it back in stock. Supplier issues at the source.

I was in contact with Premium Aquatics last week and they let me pre-order. The container of sand (that was ordered last October..!?) finally sailed. They expect the shipment by the end of this month...

Anyway, call them if you want in on this batch!

Why is it different than the other grain of salt in the live sand bag. Wet one from that stupid company that claims sand is live. But it's still nice pink Samoa sand

Nice butterfly rick. There are so many butterfly like this out there in reef that you never seen sold as schools. I loved the teardrops and Vagabounds. The whole reefs were double saddle backs -faculas. Teardrops and these. Vagabonds. The freaken equisite huge pairs were insane.

I read a little more about those guys,...said something about a major color change as they got larger,...might turn to a drab brown. I don't know if the teardrops are the same, but the teardrops that I seen diving in the caribbean were really pretty.
