BK's 110 Gallon Build

Damn i didnt know ure tank crashed , sorry to heard that , i still have a few sps , from the time we traded a while back . U had some very nice colonies.

I'm pretty sure it was my biopellet reactor being clogged up and me not noticing it for a couple of weeks. May have been a month. All I remember is my N03 went from 0.24 to 30 from one test to the other. I made water over night to do a huge water change. Then the next morning I found all of the fish floating and all of the coral dead. Could have been other things but that's one thing I noticed.

That sucks! I doubt the nitrate did it, maybe something unclogged in the reactor and dumped some nasty chemicals? Either way, better luck this time!

LED question since I'm new to LED's... I have the LED's on top of the canopy which puts them at about 17" from the water line. They are the Gen 3 Radions (not the pros) and there are 2 of them. They are on the Coral Lab program SPS PHX14. I currently have them at 60% intensity. With the tank being 31" deep and the LED's being 17" above the water line I think I can bring them up slowly to 100% if I chose but the question is do I need to or should I over time bring them up that high?

I can't answer that diffidently, but with LED's it's about starting out low on intensity and bring them up in small amounts with closely watching how the corals respond.

When I switched over from my T5's, I started out as low as I could go 10% white channel and 20% blue channel. Lights at 12" off water surface. After two weeks I upped them to 20%-30% and with in a week I saw my SPS start to become pale. I lowered them back and it took nearly two weeks for them to return their color.

So, go slow and observe. Adjust accordingly from there. LED's are not "plug and play"!

Good advice. Thank you!

The Starry Blenny and the Hippo love Nooks leather. They always hang out in and and on it.

It's a Samsung 7" TM 110. I had it left over when the kids got iPads. I'm not sure if that's the best tablet for the job but it works for me.

I should also add not to place it like I did . I get a lot of splashing and salt on it. For now I took some clear cellophane and wrapped the tablet with it. I'll relocate mine when I redo the stand. I'm not really sure where that will be yet.
