I didn't know that color existed in acroporas. I've had this for a month and it's maintaining its color; black or maybe very dark gray (with a slight tint of purple) with yellow tips. I'd love to see a picture of a colony of this

ba dum bump indeed, hehe

until earlier today it was under 14k 250w halide with 2xt5, but I moved it to my grow-out tank (pictured) 6xt5 sunpower (4 b+, 1p+, 1 kz ng)

Now that is one I have never seen !
Beautiful !
Keep us posted on the growth .......and frag availability.
Very Nice !

There are very few black corals, I think acropora and montipora are excluded from the select few.

Now grey or dark brown are possibilities...

after all the colors in the rainbow that have been searched the world over for...we have come to this...a BLACK coral. funny. next thing you're all gonna tell me is that my brown crappy corals are now a hot commodity all the sudden that I can get a lot of money for...

See this for lights. The picture makes the lights look white, but that`s just my bad coolpix camera. I`ll try to take a more accurate picture tonight with a better white balance. As for the color, yes, it does appear to be very dark gray with a hint of purple rather than pitch black, but you have to look very closely to see it. The picture isn`t shopped, however I used the fix feature to make the colors a little more accurate to what my eyes see

Here's a slightly more accurate picture of the blacro (sold to me as a poison ivy but I couldn't find anything about such a coral online)

pictures of your piece would be appreciated. Mine is aquacultured and I picked it up from montreal, so it wouldn't be really far fetched to believe it comes from the same place yours come from if its that similar
