black bristle worm?

today i noticed what appeared to be a black bristle worm about an inch long so i have scooped him out and the only difference i can see is it has what look like whiskas on its face and no bristles on its back.
could this be some sort of eunice worm?

That would be a Eunice worm, I'm betting. 4 facial tentacles and dark.

its hard to tell how many as its quite hard to see as iits so small i will have to find a magnifying glass

ive just seen a pic of a eunicid worm and its looks very much the same but the one i have appears to be quite a bit darker.

what i cant get my head round is that ive just brought the tank from a friend who has had it for a couple of years and nothing has been added other than some new agromax live sand.
so where has it come from could there be a larger one hiding in there somwhere?

It's thought that most polychaetes only live about a year. Reefers however, have reported keeping individual large eunicids as pets for 5 years or more so it's likely that yours has been in the rock the whole time.
