black cap jawfish

I will be going to my LFS tomorrow and the owner has a black cap jawfish, I have a 40 long with 10lbs of crushed coral, and 20lbs of aragonite, its between 1-3 inches deep would this suffice for that fish? would it Bother a coral banded shrimp? (the shrimp is nearly 2" from mouth to tail)

yes, it ate the shrimp which was crazy to watch, and it dug 3 burrows and abandoned them before it settled in the last one it made, very interesting fish to watch... and when I was fixing some of the mess he made I put my hand in the sand near his burrow and it attacked my hand! I think this fish makes a great addition to most reefs providing they have adequate substrate, and no small shrimp

I just got a blackcapped jawfish, and he ate my tiny yellow watchman goby. Hopefully it won’t eat my large skunk cleaner shrimp.

Sounds like the black cap is the undulated trigger of the jawfish family
