Black egg crate and live rock

Hey guys, I am working on a few projects for my reef tank. The first is a shelf like rock background for the entire tank. I want to create some jutting shelves to adhere coral to the wall and free up swimming space in the tank. My idea is to have the egg crate cut to fit the back wall and also use some to cover up the corner overflow. I want to use dry rock to make some extra shelves and caves near the base. I have a few live rock pieces that I have been slowly epoxying to create tree like spires that will allow me even more coral placement and definition to the tank while allowing swimming room.

So does anybody know where I may find the following.

Black egg crate
Dry rock, I was hoping someone might have some they wouldn't mind unloading. It can be broken up chunks since I plan to epoxy it anyway
Epoxy, what epoxy do you guys use? The stuff available that is "fish safe" is very expensive. Do they have a less expensive home depot option?
Powerheads, anyone have a good option to try? I have been using a marine land one with suction cups and it has falling over causing mayhem.

Thank you!

BRS has black egg crate, and they've got the black friday sale going on. My powerheads are getting kind of tired and I'm thinking about going for a couple of wp-25's.

ARC is a bit from me. Im from Fairport.

What brand makes the wp? I couldn't find it with my search fu. Which is frankly embarrassing.

I will ask my friend who built one of those walls. He used foam and rocks and sand to make it. You just need a fair amount of rock attached to it or it floats.

I guess I don't know what type of epoxy you're talking about. Are you looking to make one of those foam rock walls? or just adhering rocks together? That is a really nice pillar.

Pretty much any 30 minute quick set two-part hobby type liquid epoxy will cure to be safe to cover up the foam with. they all have the same ingredients. you won't find this at home depot, but you will find it at RC stores and places like hobby lobby. I have used the stuff from hobby lobby and it hasn't killed anything.

I'm looking for a way to adhere rocks to a wall. I didn't look into creating a foam wall. However that might not be a bad idea to research.

Thanks for the info on the pumps. However seeing the price I'm going to have to start saving or looking into DIY magnet solutions! Ah, the price of being poor :)
