i have a 29 gal biocube it is seven weeks old, i only have two oscellaris clowns i noticed some black spots developing on them. they are still active and eating. i purchased some kent garlic extreme, my question is if i can keep them eating and keep their immune system strong can they come out of it with this garlic treatment

are they hosting an anemone? black spots is not necessarily a sign of disease. as long as they are eating and swimming well. i would not worry.

no they are not hosting in an anenome i just noticed these spots on my clowns asked the lfs employee he said it possibly could be black ich so i soaked their mysis in kent garlic extreme as he suggested hopefully im worried over nothing

never seen or heard of black ich dont always listen to your lfs most of them make it up as they go along i feed with garlic keep them a good mixture of differnt foods brine shrimp has no nutrition i use bloodworms mysis shrimp chopped shrimp and scallops soak it in garlic they love it

^ if you have any stinging corals in your tank that the clowns may be trying to go into they will develop black spots.

^^ black ich aka black spot is most commonly seen in tangs and is caused by a tubellarian flatworm.

black ich?

black ich?

i only have two zoanthid colonies at this time, all of my water parameters are in check and they are not bullying each other, i just dont know what would have them to develop black spots, i am feeding them mysis and oraglo pellets, i am alternating soaking their food in garlic extreme and selcon
